What a day!! Lynn Canyon- Vancouver, CANADA
Today we visited Lynn canyon! We were expecting another suspension bridge but what we saw was much more. Lynn Canyon is free entry, which is brilliant. It was on north side of Vancouver, which is the other side of the river. To get there we had to walk across town. Catch the ferry and another bus.
Arriving we crossed the suspension bridge and of course all I wanted to do was find the waterfalls. I thought it would be pretty straightforward. Follow the path til the end. But I soon released that there were way to many paths and people everywhere.
I turn around and I couldn’t find my family anywhere. I thought they weren't far behind I'll wait here for them to catch up. That never happened so I walked back to the start. And back again. Still couldn't find them. What felt like hours had gone past I finally found them.
We quickly moved on and started to explore. There was an area called 30ft pools. In these deep rock pools, the water was so clear you could see the bottom. People were jumping in from all different angles and heights. Looked scary but if I had of known of these prior I would have packed my togs and jumped in too. Would have made some awesome go pro photos. After taking this in we continued along a path.
Mum asked a local where the path lead, as we had no idea. Rice Lake is what we were on the search for! We couldn't read the map to find where we were. Let along find out where we wanted to be. We went the longest way possible to the lake. It was a nice view though. Unfortunately the sky was that white and was hard to capture a nice looking sky. We decided to head back. We had a drink break at the cafe and heading off for another walk to Twin Falls Bridge. It was stairs upon stairs and even more stairs. The view was awesome though.
We were talking to a few locals. They call it the circuit. You start at the top, which is 30ft pools. Jump in and continue down steam jumping down each waterfall and swimming down the river. They have even hooked ropes up to help get over huge rocks and stuff in the way. It looked dangerous but fun. Especially when I thought of the photos the go pro would get. Unfortunately we had no idea about it. And didn't pack our togs. But this is definitely on the list for my next visit.
On our way back up another local was telling us how dangerous it is and how may people have been injured or even killed. Which was sad hearing about that. But I can understand why it is so popular with the locals. Its like a natural theme park.
Todays adventure equaled to 25,000 steps on my fitbit. It was a great day out! and its definitely on my list. I will return. Make sure you put it on your Must do travel list.
